Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Ternate Tea and Spice Co LLC (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Ternate Tea & Spice Co., why we collect it, and who else handles it.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message.
- When you subscribe: your email address.
- When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, and order contents. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Automatically: standard server logs kept by our host, such as IP address and browser type.
Why we collect it
To take payment and fulfil your order, to send order confirmations and shipping updates, to answer your questions, and — only if you have opted in — to send occasional news about our teas and spices. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers, each of which only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Stripe — payment processing and checkout.
- Resend — order, shipping, and newsletter email.
- Google Sheets — our internal record of orders.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery, and Turnstile bot protection on our forms.
Bot protection on our forms
Our contact, request, newsletter, and discount-code forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs invisibly in the background to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic. To do this it processes signals such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and TLS fingerprint. Turnstile does not read what you type into a form, and Cloudflare states that its purpose is to detect bots rather than to identify, profile, or target individuals. Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and there are no third-party tracking pixels on this site. We set one cookie, promoHidden, which remembers for seven days that you dismissed the banner at the top of the page. Your cart is kept in your browser’s local storage so it survives a page reload; it stays on your device and is not sent to us until you check out.
Marketing email
We only email marketing to people who have asked for it. Every such message includes an unsubscribe link, and we honour opt-outs promptly. Order confirmations and shipping notices are not marketing and are sent for every order.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we need them to support the order and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Contact messages and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. To make a request, email [email protected].
